under 16 character permission?
Hope Estheim from Final Fantasy XIII is fourteen years old, and through his canon has gone through a lot of horror that includes not only fighting monsters but being faced with the situation of potentially (physically and mentally) become one of the nightmares that he's fighting. He has dealt with being a monster, has been hunted, has had his entire world falling apart around him (can say this literally as well) and has come out stronger for it.
Added to the fact that he will also be taken from another survival horror game where he has dealt with more monsters, cannibals, and the likelihood of never going home again, I'd like to propose that Hope is capable of handling this game?

Questions
If the answer is yes, what does that mean for items people brought with them that have text, such as IDs or notebooks? Did it get translated during the move or is it now unreadable?
[On another note, the OOC comm and Maps links on the profile pages seem to be broken.]

As for the question, yes, everyone texts and writes in Sumerian. For items brought in, they are now illegible; however those who are familiar with translating unknown languages or are perhaps code-breakers may be able to translate text, IDs, etc. Items such as grimores may or may not be exempt, as it will be taken on a case by case basis.
I hope this answered your question, and sorry for the wait!
Setting question and language permision
Secondly, Hayley is proficient with Latin like I said in her app, is she still able to understand it or has it changed? (whatever is fine, I just wanted to clarify)

But that answered my questions. Thank you!

Examples of the various languages are Dorian, Anatolian, Vedic Sanskrit, Pisidian, and Latino Faliscan.
Hayley will be able to keep her Latin, but most of what is written is romance, or well known books such as The Conquest of Gaul, Metamorphoses, City of God, and so forth.
ANOTHER THING im sorry
No sorries!
Creating an app
1. I've read over the Rules & FAQs and gone over both sets of applications quite thoroughly, but I'm still somewhat confused regarding original characters.
To use an OC here, should the character be COMPLETELY original, or is s/he meant to be a fan character (that is, an original character made for a fandom)?Re-reading the Rules & FAQ, I see that fandom OCs are not allowed. I'm assuming, then, that that means OCs are meant to be completely original?2. I've been sort of glancing over the site, but I'm still not entirely sure that I understand how this works. My understanding is that the mods post a situation, the various players respond via comment to that situation, characters can interact with one another, and it all takes place within the House. If that's wrong in any way, please correct me. This site is infinitely more complicated than my previous experience with forum role-playing.
3. Could someone please explain the functions of the phones? How do they work?
4. Almost forgot; under "Triggers" listed for the character. Are those meant to be specific to that character, or to the user? Ie, if the user is bothered by spiders, but the character is not; or if the character is bothered by spiders, but the user is not.
I think that's everything, and thank you again for reading this.
About text posts...
While I like the idea of the IM chat-system, it's turning out to be more troublesome in practice than it sounded, and I'll tell you why:
First of all, it's hard for anyone except the original poster to keep track of replies unless they're constantly refreshing the page. There's the option of subscribing to the thread, but an easily overlooked one.
Second, ICly (and in real life, when you think of it) people are more likely to bounce comments back and forth with one, maybe two other people at a time anyway, even if it is in chat format. So it'd be nice to just keep those conversations nested together. I'm sure you've seen chats where two or more conversations are happening at the same time inbetween each other?
Third, it makes posts that change or have multiple formats (such as a text conversation that turns into action) hard to work with? There was a post a couple weeks ago that had a text part and an action part and I just didn't bother with flat posting because it would get confusing with any action posts that were up.
This is just my opinion, but it might be more practical to just have normal threads, and then maybe emphasize that there are no filters and encourage threadjacking as a result of that? I'm not demanding a change, but I just wanted you to think about it and see what others think.
Apologizes for not returning the message sooner!
1. Yes, we would like for OCs to be at this time completely original. However, if you would like to talk to us about it-if you have for example a character that has been created and has its own backstory in the World of Warcraft setting or something similar, we're happy to talk it out!
2. Dreamwidth can be complicated, and depending on the game...it can be more so. With Exploration Zero, the situation changes slowly in comparison to real time. The mods post events that characters may get into and explore. The House is the first step, but things may change with time.
3. The phones are not designed to be like a cell phone in that it's strapped to the wrist. It appears to be made of steel, and is shaped in a C; within the empty area it has laser lights that tell the time. However, in pressing a button to the left, or pulling out a slot, characters can access the video and voice function. Pressing another button on the right will flip upon a small screen and a set of keys-the text function.
4. Triggers are meant to apply to the character; however if you wish to have a separate paragraph, that's fine with us!

Anyway, that's great; I'll finish up my app then. Thanks again!
